Edmonton Community Foundation’s Nancy Fairley Scholarships deadline May 31st

posted May 6, 2020, 11:11 AM by Nicole Malkewich

A gifted teacher who also gave much to the arts community, Nancy Fairley taught English at Ross Sheppard High School and, subsequently, in the IB program at Old Strathcona High School. She died of cancer at age 46. The scholarship honors her memory by  providing financial awards to students who are completing a full International Baccalaureate program at an Edmonton Public or Catholic school and who will be pursuing studies at a university or college in Alberta. Academic standing, community and school leadership, and financial need will all be taken into consideration. Students must be nominated by their IB English 30 teacher (but each teacher can nominate more than one student).
